The
Bi Annual Cross Border Challenge with the Detroit Athletic Club with held at
Windsor Squash and Fitness Club on Saturday. The players from WSF came ready to
play some tough matches against the DAC. It was this preparedness that allowed
WSF to jump out to an early lead. Strong showings from Dave Porter and Ryan
Guthrie provided WSF the motivation to continue their hard work. These matches
were followed up by solid performances from Adam Pole, Anis Khan and James Konrad
that built up a 12 to 2 lead for WSF. Despite, the lead WSF players continued to
push hard. Kathy Moceri and Kathy Corchis turned in outstanding performances
in winning their matches that propelled WSF to a 16 to 4 win over the DAC. A
record number of nine women played in this event for the first time. Thank you to
everyone who participated in this event and to Mick Joint for organizing a
great bunch of players from the DAC. I hope we continue this hard work in the
spring when this event is played again at the DAC.
